Don't worry Indian Docs *MUST READ*

worth a read:
this comes from Dr.Bharat:"I am a practicing internist in US,Graduate of Indian medical college. Recently got green card. I read this sad news and here are my thoughts: this is a very stupid idea to begin with.

This rule will only apply to doctors who seek residency in USA on a J visa (training visa). But not to those who do residency on H visa (job visa). For H visas nothing is required from Indian government, neither the NOC nor the statement of need and that is a US Immigration law that cannot be changed by ANY Indian minister.

 so
basically I see that this rule will only do two things: one, it will shift the numbers towards H visas (which means more money for US economy drained out of poor Indian resources- since H visas are lot more expensive than J visas) second, India will permanently loose doctors to USA or other countries who accepts US degrees (name a country who does not honor a US degree) and whatever little percentage of doctors would have voluntarily returned to India (may be after 5 or 10 years after their residency) will not because they
would have become ineligible to practice in India because of defaulting bonds.

There is
no way a doctor can return to India immediately after finishing his residency not for one reason but a zillion. And if azad thinks that US will honor his request of not allowing
indian doctors to practice in US after their residencies then let me tell him that he is day
dreaming in a FOOLS PARADISE.

Sir, USA has such an acute shortage of doctors that I can guarantee you that not even for next 1000 years will they even listen to any such stupid request from any country in the world. US government spends at least half a million dollars to train a foreign graduate, so what makes you think that they will let them go so easily???

And even if they will ban them from practicing in USA there will be zillion hospitals in zillion countries waiting like hungry wolves to absorb these sophisticated
graduates.

So there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY on earth that could make a doctor trained in the US hospital serve in a rural Indian village where he has to defecate in open fields and drink contaminated water. Instead of resolving to such cheap tactics azad should press the government to make lives of doctors little more comfortable and offer them good salaries and jobs and comfortable housing in rural areas that would be the most and the ONLY effective way to stop brain
drain.

Plus stop corruption and make
basic drugs
available in hospitals
